The Berkshire Mall is a shocker of a mall -- dead and empty, grass growing in the pavement etc. The Google street view photos are 2016 (when Sears was still there, apparently) and 2019 when it seems a tiny bit of contractor life existed. Fast forward to 2023: since I first visited in 2021, there has been nothing but boarded up buildings with one BIZARRE exception: at some point Target went in and it is very busy in its own little NE corner. I don't know why they are there or stay, or why their being there doesn't make someone re-open some of the other parts.

This is a mall located in lanesborough massachusetts and opened in 1988. It was a thriving mall in the area, but soon enough it met the same fate as a lot of the malls featured on this site. At its peak, it was at capacity of 80 stores, a single level 720,000 square feet shopping facility. But now, the only viable stores are Sears (ironically one of the busiest stores in the place), Target, and Regal Cinemas. It has gotten pathetic. I walk in there i feel like im in a dungeon with it's dark, empty, lifeless hallways.
