TOWER MALL: PORTSMOUTH, VA
John Barker's Commentary

Home to Bradlees (originally J.M. Fields) and the Montgomery Wards Outlet Center. All the mall occupants had moved out by the time Wards declared bankruptcy in early 2001. The mall was even closed off to mall walkers. Upon Wards vacancy, Tower Mall was demolished to make way for "Victory Crossing", which is a Big Box shopping center with Lowe's, Dollar Tree, Kroger (I believe), Ruby Tuesdays, a video rental place, etc.

Carol Neeley’s Commentary:
User submitted in 2021When they first opened there was a Stitches jean store, Merry-Go-Round. teen girls clothing stores Rosemary and Thyme, and The Clover Patch. Regis hair salon, Jo Ann Fabrics, an ABC store on the corner. the Bradlees had once been a JM Fields and maybe a grocery store beforehand. Also a Montgomery Wards, a two-screen movie theatre where Star Wars played for 18 months.
